Hey there 👋 — I’m Yassine
Before I start posting regular articles here, I thought it’d make sense to begin with a little introduction — so here we go!
I’m Yassine, 36 years old, born and raised in Mahdia, a beautiful coastal governorate in Tunisia.
Academic background
After finishing high school, I did my classes préparatoires in Tunis — those intense years that every French-speaking engineer knows too well. Then I moved to France to continue my studies. I completed my engineering degree at ENSTA ParisTech, and later earned a Master’s in Game Theory from École Polytechnique.
Professional journey
Professionally, I’ve been lucky to work in several companies around the Paris region, across different industries. I started my career as an Operations Research Engineer, but when the data science boom hit around 2014, I couldn’t resist the wave — and I shifted gears.
During that period, I was in a really cool and flexible position where I could choose my own topics and experiment freely. I worked on projects that brought data science models into production, used at scale by real users. That’s also when I got the chance to collaborate closely with some amazing backend developers, who taught me how to code scalable and maintainable applications the right way.
That experience naturally pushed me toward data engineering, especially when I started freelancing.
Over the years, I’ve worn many hats in the tech world — Developer, Tech Lead, Team Manager, and even CTO. Each role taught me something different about building products, leading teams, and balancing the trade-offs between innovation and practicality.
A bit about my hobbies
When I’m not coding or diving into AI experiments, I love watching FC Barcelona — I’ve been a passionate fan since I was a kid. Their style of play, the history, the emotions… it never gets old.

I’m also a big fan of mathematical olympiads. I actually spend a good chunk of my free time solving old problems from international competitions — not for work, just for the challenge and the beauty of the math itself. It’s my favorite way to disconnect and keep my brain sharp at the same time.

🚀 What’s next
Right now, I’m at a point in my career where I just want to have fun with tech again. Luckily, we’re living through a historic moment — the AI boom. So, that’s where my focus will be for the coming months (and probably years).
This blog will be my space to share what I learn, experiment with ideas, and maybe spark some discussions along the way.
Stay tuned for what’s coming next! 🙌
